Shades of Grey is FINISHED!

I can't believe I can finally say this...my Shades of Grey quilt is FINISHED!!! I am so so so happy with the look of this quilt - it is exactly what I wanted. You can read more about the quilt here. I love everything about this quilt - the fabrics, simple patchwork squares, orange peel quilting, hand-stitched binding, the giant size, I love literally everything about it! (The quilt looks a little puffy in these photos, but that is only because I balled it up after I took it out of the dryer.)

This quilt really is a monster and took a long time to complete. I kept setting this project aside for smaller, easier to maneuver quilts. This is the first quilt I have made with the intention of using it on a bed. Does this mean that I have finally made it in the quilting world?? Oooh...I sure hope so!

Now I am off to snuggle under this beauty...and potentially start purchasing fabric for a few more of these to stock the etsy shop I hope to open in June ;)

    1. I really like the look of orange peel quilting, but I would NOT do it with a walking foot again...next time I want to try using my free motion foot. I think the free motion foot requires a lot less quilt maneuvering

  4. Awesome! I so love neutrals right now; this quilt is just perfect. I am making bed-sized quilts too right now; I have been quilting way too long for my kids to all have store-bought comforters on their beds!
