Finally... a quilt for me

I thought this day would never come... I finally have a quilt for ME!!!! I am so excited to have finished a quilt that I can use on a daily basis and that is not being given away to one of my friends. Though I did not get as much done over spring break as I had originally planned, I am very happy with this finish!

For this quilt I used the Mod Sampler Redux pattern from Elizabeth Hartman, over at Oh, Fransson! I absolutely love this pattern - clean lines, negative space, use of solids and patterns, and the pieced back. This is a great pattern for beginners, and definitely one I will do again! I actually have a stack of fabric that is calling out for this pattern. :)

The fabric in this quilt is from Kate Spain's Terrain collection for Moda. I absolutely love the bright, vibrant colors in this fabric line!! When I was home in October my mom and I took a trip to The Fabric Shack in Waynesville, OH (someday I will dedicate a post to this oasis)! I picked out this fabric and received it for Christmas. Even though I cut all of the fabric back in December, I just now got around to finishing the quilt.

For the quilting I used the wavy quilting tutorial from Bijou Lovely. This was my first time quilting with wavy lines. I really like the look, but will probably make the lines closer together next time.

This quilt was one of my three spring break finishes! (There were also many spring break starts!) I love this picture of my three finishes piled up. :)

I will be linking this post to {Sew} Modern Mondays at Conoe Ridge Creations. Head over to the website to check out other amazing modern projects!
