What to do for backing?

A few weeks ago I started work on this voile quilt top while I was spending time at Finch Sewing Studio. I know that the top still will not be done anytime soon (I have a tall stack of projects that come first!), but I have been thinking a lot about the backing fabric.

The top is made from voile which is a thin, almost silky fabric that is just luxurious. I plan to use bamboo batting and hand quilt it using large stitches. I want something as equally wonderful for the back. Any ideas? Voile, rayon challis, flannel, shot cotton, and Michael Miller cotton couture are all in the running. What do you think?

  1. I think it would be super cuddly with some flannel on the back. But could you imagine how luxurious it would be in shot cotton? Aaak! To die for!

  3. I loooove the idea of shot cotton on the back. It has such a wonderful texture. (Well, actually all your ideas have a wonderful texture...you don't have a bad choice among them!)
