My New Machine!

I DID IT!!!! I bought a new machine!

I had so much fun shopping at Pocono Sew & Vac. After talking with the salespeople and looking around I narrowed down my selection to Viking, Janome, and Juki. In the end I decided on the Janome Memory Craft 6500. I absolutely LOVE it!!! I got a great deal because they gave me the price from a quilt show they had the previous weekend and I purchased their demo model from that show for an even better discount. :) I love that I didn't need to buy any extra presser feet or an extender table - because everything I wanted was included in the machine price.

Here I am with my new baby.

One of the most important steps in making such a big purchase (for me) is naming my new toy. My car's name is Sheshe ...and I wanted to come up with a more intentional name this time. Meet my new machine...JANE! I love this name for my machine for a few different reasons. First, I love the alliteration of Jane the Janome. But more importantly, Jane was the name my grandmother used and since my first machine belonged to my grandmother and I obviously get my love for crafting from her I thought it was very fitting. Lastly, I chose this name because there is no way I can leave my other grandmother, Dorothy, out of all the fun. Guess this means I will have to purchase a long arm machine in the future so that I can have a Jane and a Dorothy. Good planning! ;)

I got home last night, set Jane up on my desk, and started playing. Unfortunately, I have a very large school project looming over my head right now so I can't play as much as I wish I could. Plus I currently have a large stack of fabric that needs to be pressed and cut before much sewing can happen. I have lofty goals for spring break and I hope that I really can get a lot done in the next two weeks.

Here is a video I took that highlights some of the amazing features of my new machine!! Check it out to learn about the Janome Memory Craft 6500. I plan on posting more videos about this machine later after I have learned more about it and logged a few hours (and probably after I have purchased a tripod).
